Dear Members

Your Committee wish you all the best for 2016.

We have organised a slightly different programme of events this year.

You will no doubt be aware that we have so far been unable to recruit any new members to the Committee, so we have had to make some changes.

We will not be holding the Spring or Autumn Shows this year. A lot of hard work behind the scenes goes into preparing these shows and we have been receiving very few entries recently.

However, we will be organizing a weekend away, two day coach trips and a London garden viewing. We will also be having a garden tea party.

Read all about these in our January newsletter which is on this website.

We would also like to remind members abut our AGM on Sunday, 20th March at Burgh House, 2.30 – 4.30pm with a horticultural talk.

We look forward to seeing you all there.

We really do need new committee members!

With kind regards

from the Committee

WELCOME to the official website for Hampstead Horticultural Society. We have been operating for 66 years for the local people of Hampstead and Camden.  We hold flower shows, arrange horticultural lectures and organise coach outings to interesting gardens.

Membership of the society is open to anyone with or wanting to acquire 'green fingers' who lives in Hampstead and its environs in north-west London, UK. We encourage both experienced and novice amateur gardeners to cultivate vegetables, fruit and flowers, and to exchange ideas.

Our usual yearly activities include:

  • Two horticultural shows with competition classes for flowers, shrubs, plants, vegetables, fruit, flower arrangements and cookery

  • Two illustrated talks at Burgh House in Hampstead

  • Day trip and residential trips to visit gardens

  • Social events and plant sales
